Piper nigrum

(M-BF2) steam distilled berries: Warming, Spicy, Digestive. This highly valued herb is widely used in Chinese and Sanskrit medicine as a healing stimulant. In ancient times it was so highly valued that the Romans were said to have paid their taxes in this herb rather than coins. It is wonderfully warming oil.

APPLICATIONS: In massage oils it is used for its heating properties. It may assist blood circulation and bring relief to fatigued and stiff muscles. In massage oils, it is also useful for temporary relief of indigestion. For cooking it is best to dilute it first in a vegetable oil before flavoring food.

NOTES: This oil may be irritating to sensitive skin. Overuse may irritate kidneys.
