Basic Mild Shampoo

August 9, 2011 By Gina

© Aromatics & More Ltd.

Basic shampoo is chemical preservative free, fragrance free, ethoxylate free, sulphate free and safe for children and adults alike. It is gentle on the skin and hair and won’t leave either feeling dry afterwards.  All the ingredients have either a Green Code of 3 or 4 making it 100% plant derived and environmentally friendly.

  2. Add Cocoglucoside, and Cocobetaine and mix will by hand. Do not use a whipping blender as you do not want to incorporate air into your product.
  3. Decant into a clean container.

Notes: If you want to make a liter (2.2 lbs) of shampoo/wash multiply each ingredient by 10. For example you would need 350 grams of Purefactant™ or 5 grams of Naturaguard™. If you do not have a scale it is reasonably safe to convert these weights to volumes as all the ingredients are safe and will not harm you if you go a bit over or under for each.

Protein Enriched Shampoo

Protein Enriched Shampoo with Guar and Jojoba

Jojoba Protein will add conditioning and strengthening along with Jojoba Aqua which will thicken and add gloss.  All the ingredients have either a Green Code of 3 or 4 making it 100% plant derived and environmentally friendly.

Shampoo for Dry Hair

Appearance: Off White Creamy

The addition of Lamesoft™ aids in the replacement of natural fats that are stripped from the hair from washing. The addition of Honey helps add moisture. Guar Quat aids in contioning, wet combing and thickening of the product. I have not added oils to this formula as oil will generally cut down on the foam produced by a shampoo. Lipsoft with help regulate the foam in addition to thicken the product.
Note: to add fragrance or essential oils mix equal parts fragrance and Polysorbate 20 with your oil and then add it to the water. Generally never add more than 5% fragrance to any product. Less is best. Deduct the amount of fragrance and Polysorbate 20 added from you water content. For example if you add 10ml of fragrance to your water deduct 10 ml of water from the total formula.
