I’ve yet to buy a lip balm at a store that I like as well as my own. Petroleum based balms don’t seem to make the lips soft as the ones with natural oils do. I also like a bit of sweetness in my lip balms. If you do too you can add sweetener to your balm. Try a couple of drops of Stevia extract, or a small amount of sugar, honey or glycerin. Don’t forget that honey and glycerin are water soluble so have to be mixed in till the oils start to harden. It’s best to put these in a lip balm pot rather than a roll on tube. Some popular essential oils in lip balms are Geranium, Lemon, Tangerine, Orange, Tangerine, Peppermint and Spearmint. When adding an essential oil don’t forget that you most likely will eventually ingest it, so keep this in mind and use an oil that is safe for ingestion. Another point to remember is that if you are going to use this balm while outside playing sports etc. do not use oils that are photo-sensitive such as the citrus oils. For sun protection you may add 1-3% of Titanium Dioxide. The type we carry is purified and safe for ingestion.

Instructions
- Measure out all your ingredients into a metal or glass pot or bowl.
- Melt on the stovetop or the microwave. Try to heat them just to the point where the oils are melted.
- Beeswax takes the longest to melt so you could melt this first and then add the other oils.
- When all the oils are melted you may then add any scent.
- Pour the melted oils into your mold.
- Let the oils completely cool and then harden.
- Remove from the mold and store in a cool place.
Note: When using Titanium Dioxide, use a hand mixer to make sure it’s well dispersed.
